Artist's Statement
This bas-relief sculpture is the first in a series of TV News works, satirising the powerfully edited, sanitised and enticing form in which the daily news is screened into our homes. This edition, # Protest, refers to current service delivery protests taking place around the county. Parts of the image have been sourced from various local media images.
Artist's Biography
Born: Benoni, Johannesburg, 1963. Lives and works in Cape Town. Received her BA(FA) from Stellenbosch University in 1985 and trained with Severino Braccialarghe at the Clift Brothers Stoneyard in Paarl, in 2005/06. Major exhibitions: Sasol Art Museum, Stellenbosch; Spier Contemporary 2007/08.
